Surreal Carnaval Series 1
This is the first of a group of surreal drawings with carnaval imagery. Although Brasilian motifs dominate the piece there is also a lot of Mexican influence, especially in the masks that lean toward the grotesque and draw from a more complex theology than that of the indigenous Brasilians. I hope to have the rest of the group completed by summer’s end.
