Carranca Surrounded by Mythical Beasts Including a Man Going to Heaven
Ink, pencil, prismacolor marker, brush marker, drafting pen on bristol.
A carranca is an imaginary beast invented by Portuguese explorers and invaders. It was carved of wood and used as a mast head in an attempt to frighten and intimidate the native Brazilians. This carranca is atypical as he looks sad rather than fierce.
